ABOUT a decade ago I held aparty with more people than I could fit around my dining table. I wanted to serve latkes, but the ones I typically made were saucer size, requiring plates and forks. That’s when it occurred to me to serve hors d’oeuvres-size instead.
Thinking about latkes as finger food opened up the floodgates of topping possibilities.

New York - Chanukah is here - - the joyous commemoration of the heroic battle for religious freedom. Torah values triumphed over Greek ideology and elitism. Ironically, with all the religious freedom afforded to us today, we have unwittingly imitated Greek culture by creating an elitist system of education. Many students who cannot meet an arbitrary standard are rejected, discriminated, humiliated and endure life-long repercussions.
