Assemblyman Phillip Goldfeder and Councilman David G. Greenfield today announced a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver responsible for a fatal hit and run at Coney Island Avenue and Avenue K at about 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 26th.

The incident occurred when the victim, 58-year-old Noah Foxman, was struck and knocked to the ground by a van, which stopped at the scene. Mr. Foxman was alert and conscious when a second vehicle, described as a light colored sedan, sped through the intersection and fatally hit him. That driver fled the scene south on Coney Island Avenue towards Avenue L and is currently being sought by the NYPD for questioning in this investigation. In addition to the $2,500 reward offered by Goldfeder and Greenfield, the NYPD is offering $2,000 for information leading to a conviction.
"Noah Foxman was a beloved husband and father who has done a tremendous amount for our community and it is now it is our turn, as elected officials, to help his grieving family during this tragic time," said Assemblyman Goldfeder. "I urge anyone who may have any information about this horrid murder to please come forward and contact the NYPD."
“This was a horrific incident made worse by the driver’s callous decision to flee the scene instead of stopping and helping Mr. Foxman. This is tragedy for the Foxman family that has been compounded by the lack of closure. We are urging anyone with information to do the right thing and call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). If doing the right thing is not motivation enough, than perhaps the reward will motivate people,” explained Greenfield.
The victim’s family, led by his brother, Shumel Foxman, is urging anyone who witnessed the hit and run, or saw anything the next day near the scene that might help locate the driver, to come forward. “The Foxman family would like to thank Detective Ryan and the NYPD for all the efforts they have put into trying to find the hit and run driver that killed our dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Special thanks to Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder and Councilman David Greenfield for offering a reward to encourage people to come forth with any information they have on the case, and to Rabbi Boruch Ber Bender of the wonderful organization Achiezer in Far Rockaway/Five Towns for coordinating the reward effort. We are not seeking revenge. Rather, we are asking that the driver do the moral and correct thing by taking responsibility for his or her actions by turning themselves into the police,” said Shmuel Foxman.
Mr. Foxman is survived by his wife and three children. Anyone with information is urged to call the NYPD Crimestoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). All information given is confidential and callers may remain anonymous and still receive an aw
