Suspect In Rabbi Murder Case 'Fit To Stand Trial'

Beersheba - The District Court determined on Sunday that legal proceedings against a man who was charged with murdering Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira last July will continue in light of a psychiatric opinion stating he is fit to stand trial.

The attorney representing Asher Dahan (42) said he had been diagnosed as being mentally ill and called the psychiatrists’ opinion “baffling.”
A panel of psychiatrists said Dahan suffered from “disorders,” but determined he was not mentally ill.
