Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder (D-Rockaway) announced that together with Achiezer, he will sponsor a New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) outreach event on June 21. Representatives from the DEP will be available to answer any questions and concerns residents or businesses may have regarding their water rates or sewer costs, and will help resolve any issues they might have.
This is a great opportunity for people to learn about their water and sewer rates,” Assemblyman Goldfeder said. “It’s my job to ensure that government agencies are accessible and accountable and this event is a great way for the community to learn about DEP, what services and programs they offer and potentially resolve any outstanding issues.”
The DEP outreach program provides residents with the opportunity to interact with their customer service representatives in a local and friendly environment. This program allows for local residents and businesses to speak with city officials about payment plans in order to settle long standing bills, and to learn about additional programs offered by the DEP.
This event provides and opportunity for constituents to discuss payment options in person and avoid a potential disruption of their utility services, Assemblyman Goldfeder noted.
While some issues may be resolved over the phone, other issues may only be resolved with a face to face meeting,” Goldfeder said. “At this event, DEP representatives will help you understand any outstanding charges, and give you the opportunity to learn more about their cost saving programs.”
DEP representatives will be available on Thursday, June 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Achiezer offices located at 148 Beach 9th St., Suite 2C in Far Rockaway. For your convenience and to ensure you are seen we recommend you schedule an appointment by calling Achiezer at (718) 327-1900.
